I went to Snow Basin near Ogden, Utah to ski today. To put it mildly, the visibility was like “skiing blind.”
(I was reminded of the movie Ice Castles where the main character becomes blind after winning the Midwestern Championships in an accident right after the competition and somehow competes again!).
I knew I could get down the mountain, but preferred to ski with someone.
So…I met this young woman named Athena in the “blind fog” and asked her if I could ski with her to safety.
She led me down the mountain and soon we could see the slopes so we decided to go back up together and ski together again.
Here we are photographed where the tree behind us is somewhat visible.
Athena is a travel nurse and hopes to move to Colorado in February, so we plan to ski together again.
