This is the Schneider-Farris Family's Blog. Keep up with what we are doing by logging into this site regularly! (The reason this site is called "Tragedy and Triumph" is that when I first founded this site, my husband, Dan, had been in a horrible accident, and he recovered. His recovery was a miracle! Thanksgiving 2010

We spent our Thanksgiving at the Schneider family vacation home in Colorado. We invited Hellene, Jeff, Sam, and Leo Orenstein-Anderson. They joined us for a wonderful overnight and "Rugrats type Thankgiving" experience.

I am thankful that my family had such a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I am thankful that we have one another and that we have so many family and friends that have been there for us through thick and thin.

Annabelle and Val Get to Learn From Ryan Bradley!

Annabelle is such a lucky girl! On Friday, 11-19-10, she and her ice dance partner, Val Katsman, worked with figure skating champion, Ryan Bradley, on their free dance! She also gets to take her ice dance tests with 2003 US Figure Skating World Team Member, Ryan Jahnke, and got to take one of her pair tests with 2008 and 2009 US Pair Skating Champion, Rockne Brubaker. Thanks to the Colorado Springs World Arena and the Broadmoor Skating Club, things like this happen for my kids. Oh yes...thanks to About.com, she went to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver with me!

Conservatory Recital - November 17 and 18, 2010

Through the Mountain Vista Homeschool Academy, once a week, Joel and Rebekah spend 4 hours and Annabelle spends 3.5 hours at the Colorado Springs Conservatory. The kids have had classes in music appreciation and music history, voice, piano, acting, dance, and drama through the program. It's been unbelievable!

This semester's program ended with a piano recital. Joel and Rebekah's group also performed two songs in a chorus type format. I took videos of most of it. Sadly, I only got the end of Rebekah's piano playing, but she promises to let me film her playing the same song at home.

Our figure skating friends, Tamia and Lauren Ellison also go to Mountain Vista Homeschool Academy, so they got to take part. I got pictures of everyone!

When Rebekah and Joel sang "Scarborough Affair" with the teen group, I felt tremendous emotion. Seeing my children sing in front of an audience was something I thought I would never see. The Colorado Springs Conservatory has worked wonders in the lives of my children!

I am so grateful for Mountain Vista Homeschool Academy. The school has given my children opportunities in so many areas.
