On January 2, 2023, I had a bidet professionally installed in my Sun Valley condo. Unfortunately, there was a manufacturer’s defect and the valve that the bidet was installed to burst and flooded my condo and also the condo below.
Insurance paid for much of the losses and I installed a new very high 1quality bidet that worked just fine. The Luxe Bidet company reimbursed my deductible and also reimbursed Lane Jarvis and Bob Jarvis their $2500 deductible.
Skip to now: I have done everything I can to make things right, but the female owner, Lane Jarvis, of the unit below, Unit 2049, has become very angry at me when she heard from a maintenance man that I installed a replacement bidet.
I have offered her use of my condo free of charge, we took her and her husband out to dinner, we helped them when we could, but her anger has just increased and increased.
I was always nice to Lane Jarvis and Robert Jarvis.
The whole thing is very uncomfortable and ruining Sun Valley for me and my family. This is not the usual Sun Valley way of acting. People in Sun Valley are usually so nice.
I’m the kind of person that really doesn’t like conflict and I always try to make things right and I don’t think I can ever make peace with this neighbor. Her anger is scary and it’s all coming through via text messages.
It’s all so very upsetting and uncomfortable, but Lane Jarvis’s husband, Bob Jarvis, is very nice.
I have heard that contractors in the Sun Valley area now refuse to do business with Lane Jarvis and Bob Jarvis.

Hi Lane and Bob. Joel and I and my husband Dan spent the night at Little America, Wyoming and unless the weather stops us, we’ll be home in Colorado Springs today. We spent Thursday night in Ogden and Joel and I skied SnowBasin yesterday. It was quite fun, but the visibility was not so good at the end of the day. I did a lot of skiing in powder! It snowed a lot. We were so happy our passes worked there and it felt like we were still in Sun Valley! Anyway, I wanted to update you on a few things: First of all, I updated Joel’s and my Airbnb listings on the road yesterday while Dan was driving and I noticed your place is up too. It looks amazing! Congratulations! You’ve been through so much. It was great to see such a beautiful listing. Also, wow…your place in Arizona looks like a dream! I am not sure I told you that Fabian and his wife and her cleaners do NOT clean on Sundays and holidays. This means that if someone checks out Sunday morning that there can’t be a Sunday night check in. So…what I do is block off Sundays altogether so that Yesenia can clean Monday morning in case there is a Monday check in. Fabian told me that if I am willing to pay double cleaning fees they can clean on Sundays and holidays. Next…the faulty bidet that caused us all so much anguish has been now shipped to the Luxe Bidet Company by Liberty Mutual Insurance which means we both should be getting our deductibles back soon. Liberty Mutual is still doing my Subrugation case, but I talked to the adjuster last week and he explained that I didn’t cause the damage to your place on purpose, it was an accident, so Liberty Mutual is not going to pay your $2500 deductible. I told Bob if you want the $2500 now and not wait on the Luxe Bidet Company, that I am willing to send it to you. Send me an address, and I will mail you a check. Lastly, the replacement bidet recently installed was a high end brand which is guaranteed to never have issues. I’m very, very ill with severe ulcerative colitis and a bidet is essential according to my physician. Another thing: I want to extend this offer to you: If you ever want to stay in either my place or Joel’s, if they are not booked with a guest or we are not there, you can stay there free of charge. This invitation also extends to your family or friends. What I mean, is if your family or friends visit while you are there and you need extra lodging, our places are yours to use if we are not using them. I would just appreciate that after your stay that you’d consider paying Fabian’s cleaning fee which is usually $70-$75. One other financial issue: Joel asked me if he was still going to get paid for taking the photos every day of your place since he handled it like a job? If you’d prefer not to pay him, I will pay him since I don’t want to cause any more headaches for you. I hope the rest of your time in Sun Valley is pleasant! Feel free to go into my place and/or Joel’s to look at my guest book. No one is there right now and Yesenia got both units ready yesterday for Airbnb guests. Hugs to you both. We have literally been under significant stress with all of this and needed to focus. We were forced to move out of our unit last week.
It was very difficult for us learn that since the flood you have installed a second bidet. Our concerns are warranted given you have flooded this unit twice, causing significant damage both times. This was caused through no fault of our own. We do don’t believe you did this on purpose. That said, you are at fault, and to continue is negligence. Two of your own handymen have stated that they advised you not to install the bidets given they are low quality and not durable and that they will break again.
We would like our deductible payment of $2,500 sent to:

In addition to the lost deductible we have lost considerable rental income. It has taken us nearly 5 months to restore our unit (we still are not done) and has caused significant disruption and stress.

We can send him a check, Venmo him or you can withhold from our deductible on our behalf.
FYI - you mentioned our Sun Valley AirBnB listing. It has been up since November and what you are seeing are the photos before the flood.

Hi Lane and Bob: I am so sorry you’ve been through so much stress and frustration. Please accept my apology and I hope we can still be friends. I have appreciated getting to know you so much. It was wonderful sharing Chinese food together! Again thank you for taking care of Duchess. I realize I offered to pay you for doing that so please let me know what I owe you for “Duchess sitting.” I inquired today and the Luxe Bidet company will be mailing your $2500 deductible in the next few weeks. I forwarded your mailing address to them. Joel’s says “Thank you!” His Venmo account info I will send as a screenshot in the next text. I didn’t realize that your beautiful Airbnb listing was a past listing, but it really is beautiful and stunning and I hope when your condo is ready it is even more beautiful. Please again know that you and your family or friends are welcome to use our condos free of charge except for the cleaning fees whenever they are open. I want to help you in that way. I don’t need Airbnb income for my condo, but Joel does, so stay in my place first and his second if you need a second place. I just Airbnb my place for fun. And feel free to go inside and look at our welcome guest books. They may give you ideas. No one is using our condos at this time. I also am going to hope and pray that there are no more water issues ever again. It seems the extreme weather in the area causes all sorts of issues and I hope those issues never happen, but there is no guarantee. The bidets currently installed are the highest quality. I’ve also had all my pipes insulated and heated. And I have Fabian check our units on a regular basis. On a personal note, you do need to know that I am extremely ill with severe and very serious and life threatening ulcerative colitis. My physician says bidets are essential. Also, there have been several and very significant losses in my life during the past year and a half. Sun Valley and our condos and skiing and traveling have put a “bandage” on the grief and losses. Those things have given me great happiness during a time where I could be in despair. I try hard to pass that happiness and positivity to everyone I meet and feel bad that you are angry with me. Please forgive me if you can. I do just want us to enjoy being friendly neighbors in such a wonderful place. Hope to see you “being happy” in Sun Valley this summer!😀

I would never ask to be paid for checking on Duchess and frankly I am surprised you wouldn’t voluntarily take pictures for us given the situation. No worries we will get Joel paid.
We do rent our condo it is an investment and this has caused great losses to us! All during a time when I too am dealing with losses in my own family.

Everything has not quite been said: I was never advised by two of my or your workers to NOT install a replacement bidet. We discussed not ever using the brand again that caused the damage which was from Walmart. I have had bidets installed in every home I own for years: this includes three at my Colorado Springs house and two at my Colorado Springs condo. None have ever had issues. It was suggested that I delay installing a replacement in my Sun Valley condo until after my floor was replaced since the toilet would need to be reinstalled. We also discussed if I should look for a better brand of the first replacement which I did. We discussed if I had faulty pipe or valve or toilet seat perhaps that should be looked at and reinforced. That was done. But…to set the record straight: I was never advised NOT to install a replacement bidet. This was not negligence on my part since I was trying to make things right. What was replaced was very high quality and double checked. I was advised by Fabian and Randy to not try to repair my old dishwasher and to purchase and install a new one and I did that, but I was given no advice regarding the bidet. If you were told this, that is incorrect information or perhaps you misunderstood? I have witnesses regarding all of this. Again, it is awful you have been through so much. I have tried so hard to be kind to you. I feel your pain. I wish so much none of this happened. And…regarding Joel: He took on the photo job as a job and I reminded him daily to do it. He sent all the photos to me and I diligently sent them to you daily. If you had asked me, not Joel, to take the photos I would have done it free of charge, but Joel is young and doesn’t usually do things as a volunteer. I should have asked him to volunteer but I didn’t and I apologize for that. Joel asked me why he had not been paid, so I asked you about it for him. Again I am so very sorry all of this happened and hope we can move forward and I hope you can forgive me. My offer stands regarding you using our condos free of charge when they are not in use. No reply expected. All has now been said.

This is Lane Jarvis #2049 Elkhorn. Please address all future correspondence directly to me. Robert is not your work around as we both feel the same way about this entire “bidet” situation which continues to plague us since January 2nd. So stop with the gaslighting!
About the check you lost. In order to issue a replacement check we will place a stop payment
on the original check. This will require yet more of our time and will cost approximately $50.00. We will deduct the stop payment fees incurred from the replacement check.
It would behoove you to locate the original check so that all this can be avoided. If not, it will take some take to begin the stop payment process as we are on vacation through September.
