Lynnellen, Billy, and Jo Ann Schneider - April 1962
It’s been three years since the day my Daddy died.
I wrote the following letter to my siblings today:
‘ December 14, 2024
Lynnellen and Billy:
Yesterday marked three years since the sad, sad day when Daddy died. I realized that although it has been three years, my grief still feels fresh. It’s felt like he just died. I have not healed and I’m still so, so sad.
I tried to call both of you yesterday because it felt right to just talk to someone else who loved him. I was disappointed that neither one of you answered, but I didn’t really expect you to answer. If you had answered maybe we could have just remembered our wonderful father together.
I do know that we’ve had our conflicts and differences since Daddy’s death, but it seems after three years it may be time to at least try to connect and interact once in a while. We are siblings. Time heals. Now may be the time to let the healing occur.
We are also very, very sorry you missed Annabelle’s wedding. It was the most joyous occasion ever and Daddy would have loved ever second of it. It felt like his presence was there, but you not being there was very obvious. Our cousin Cherie actually burst into tears when she saw you were not there. She so much wanted to connect with family.
When I went to Long Beach I tried to see you Lynnellen and even brought by gifts for your birthday two years in a row. I was really sad we didn’t connect. Unfortunately my life in Long Beach has really pretty much ended without the option of a place to stay. I don’t know when I will go there again, but if you wanted to see me, I’d make a special trip just to spend time with you. I think about your health and wonder how you are all the time.
Just so you both know, I’ve been very ill. I am in remission now, but there had even been some concern I’d not be able to go to the wedding.
A friend of mine recently heard his brother had only a few months to live so he got in his car and drove from Colorado to Southern California just so that he, his brother, and sister could spend time together. The brother died a few weeks later.
I don’t want any one of us to pass suddenly, but I know the three of us should at least be in communication just in case. It is not only important for us, but for our children.
I don’t know if you recall that we have a relative on Mom’s side who is a professional family mediator. Perhaps now that three years has passed that it is time for us to meet with a family mediator just so that in the future we can be family.
It was so amazing to have the whole family together and to also have Thanksgiving Dinner at the Spirio’s home. Wow…there was a lot of food! And…especially a lot desserts! Yes…we are so fortunate to have a wonderful family and friends.
We finally got our dream Woody PT Cruiser! My dad would have loved it! We bought it from the original owner who lives in Colorado so this time we did not have to go out of state to get this PT. Only a little over 21,000 miles and it is a 2003!
I saw an advertisement on Facebook about a really nice electric bicycle from a company called Peace Bicycles. The advertisement looked so nice and the bike they offered looked so attractive. They showed a woman about my age happily riding their bike.
A sale price was offered that seemed tempting. After watching a video showing a woman riding one of their electric bikes and looking so happy, I ordered a bike on September 27, 2024. (I just noticed that the woman riding this bike is not wearing a helmet! Why would a legit bike company advertise their products without bike helmets? See video below)
I received an email that looked official about a day later that my ordered had been received. See below.
This is the bike I ordered: Night Blue With Black Tires - electric
I asked for an estimate on a delivery date and received the same response over and over again:
“ Will update you asap :) ”
Pasted below are screenshots of some of my correspondence with this company.
Also below are screenshots of complaints about this company to the Better Business Bureau. It is apparent that people order bikes from this company and nothing arrives for years. I’ve been scammed.
Below is a post on Facebook that someone wrote about not ever receiving their order from Peace Bicycles. The post states that Peace Bicycles is a scam.
Another person who was ripped off by Peace Bicycles - see above screenshot
I’ve contacted Affirm and hope that they will investigate and not require me to pay off the over $1000 loan that they already paid to Peace Bicycles.
Notice no one is wearing helmets in these photos!
Also one address of the company according to their website is in Utah:
Peace Bicycles 1444 South 500 East STE 350 + 400 American Fork, UT 84003
Peace Bicycles’ Utah address looks like it is an empty field….
and another address is in Sarasota, Florida:
It looks like Peace Bicycles address in Florida is this little house…OMG!!!
And above is the address that Peace Bicycles uses on Amazon which is in Tempe, AZ…I don’t think Peace Bicycles ships anything in two days! Again, why does the Peace Bicycles website say they are in “beautiful Florida” ???!!!!
This info page says they are in Utah…so why does the website say “beautiful Florida” !!!!?????
I ordered a bike on 9/24/24…it’s been almost two months…this is deceptive advertising about delivery above.
Their refund policy is strange: No refunds for bikes that will be delivered assembled or in transit.
This photo says the company delivered to Lawton, Oklahoma…. And, of course, NO HELMET….
Well maybe there are bikes somewhere? But…how many years will it take for bikes to arrive?
————————-
Received the following on Saturday 10/16/24….BUT…there is no actual address of where the bike was delivered! I do have a tracking number though….1ZJ22D980324736450
A package was shipped from Mesa, Arizona…so why does Peace Bicycle’s website say they are located in “beautiful Florida” ???!!! - even one of their emails to me said the hurricane in Florida was happening but they’d still get me my order….something is definitely fishy about Peace Bicycles!
This says the bike has been delivered …but where?
I’ve filed a Lost Package claim with UPS 11/16/24

Why would Peace Bicycles not answer my emails or texts? Why do they never answer the phone and why is their voice mailbox full?
Well I’ve narrowed it down: A box was delivered by UPS somewhere in the 80911 zip code at 1:07 pm on November 8, 2024 in the middle of a blizzard. It was delivered to a bike assembler (booked through velotooler.com) at 920 Binger Dr, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80911 named Stearns LaSeur IV.
During the afternoon of 11/19/24, I actually reached Stearns on the voice message feature of the Facebook Messenger App after searching for him on Facebook. We talked for 15 minutes. He told me that the electric wheel had not arrived and that the brake levers need replacing, so Peace Bicycles delivered a faulty product that was missing an essential part. He could not deliver the bike to me unless the wheel arrives.
Peace Bicycles kept saying the wheel would arrive. They even said that the bike was assembled on November 7 and waiting for wheel, but the unassembled bike did not arrive at the assembler’s home until November 8! Peace Bicycles didn’t tell the truth and obviously ship products with missing parts on purpose and say that the wheel is coming as a consistent excuse.
Well, at least I now know where the partially assembled/completed bike is that is missing the electric wheel.
I wrote Peace Bicycles asking for the bike package’s exact location several times before they finally gave me the delivery location. See below.
After speaking to the assembler I wrote Peace Bicycles the following, but I have not heard back:
This is the electric wheel that Peace Bicycles ordered. Note it is NOT the wheel that is pictured on their website. The wheel comes from a 3rd party seller on the Walmart website! I’ve been told by the assembler that the brake levers on the bike are faulty. When the bike was delivered to me, it was with a miscellaneous random wheel that Peace Bicycles ordered and with replacement brake levers.
The Peace Bicycles company certainly has horrible customer service. They seem to scam some customers or are very unorganized.
I filed a formal complaint to the Colorado Attorney General’s office on 11/18/24:
On 11/19/24 I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
It seemed fairly obvious I’d been scammed by Peace Bicycles. I think since I put up such a fuss something was delivered eventually.
