This is the Schneider-Farris Family's Blog. Keep up with what we are doing by logging into this site regularly! (The reason this site is called "Tragedy and Triumph" is that when I first founded this site, my husband, Dan, had been in a horrible accident, and he recovered. His recovery was a miracle! Dan moved out of the ICU 10-5-05
The next few days were exciting ones as Dan communicated to us in sign language and is moved out of the ICU.
One day we arrived and Dan was just sitting in bed looking totally like himself, but still not being able to talk.
We talked to him about everything that day! It was fun to use sign language, but it also became a bit frustrating for Dan too when we didn't understand his signs or the words he spelled.
Finally, he was moved from the 4th floor to a room on the 6th floor in the Trauma Care unit.
I spent some time talking to him in sign language one day and the conversation was very serious. I cried and held Dan as he displayed this strong emotion. I felt his pain.
What horrible thing had happened on Friday, September 16, that could have caused such anger and pain? Dan doesn't remember what happened, but I remember the pain he displayed in sign language that day. Will we ever know what happened?
